Oakwood Sun Club Open Day
with Barry Sykes

Sunday 24 June
11.00am to 6.00pm

Oakwood Sun Club, Brentwood

Barry Sykes has been in residence at Oakwood Sun Club researching the local history of nudism, naturism and associated ideas of imperfection, invisibility and
communal retreats in the landscape.

On Sunday 24 June 2018 you can learn more about his work at Oakwood, as the club invite visitors to meet their members and explore the grounds at their
annual Open Day Barbecue

Established in 1962 amongst woodland on the banks of the M25 between Brentwood and Romford, Oakwood Sun Club offers a bucolic escape from the world outside, with meadow, dense foliage and flowing streams, home to rabbits, squirrels, rare butterflies and visiting deer. Club members enjoy a heated pool, boules, croquet and miniten courts, kids play area and a large sun lawn to stretch out as nature intended.

Alongside this chance to appreciate the club's achievements, Barry Sykes will be presenting a display of his research to date, including sunlight-generated cyanotype prints, surveys and various archive material.

Guests will not be asked to undress (unless using the pool), although are very welcome to. You are advised to bring a towel with you.

Entrance is FREE, simply email bobatoakwood@yahoo.co.uk if you want to attend. More information can be found here
